What you are agreeing to
[ 02 ]The brief comes first. The fee comes after an advocate has read it — and only if they take it on.
A few lines about the matter. It goes to the advocate’s desk, not to a queue — a person reads the actual words before anything else happens.
If it is a matter they can move, they accept and the session fee falls due. If it is not, they decline and say so. Either way you are told.
If counsel declines, or does not answer in time, no payment is taken. There is nothing to claim back, because nothing was charged.

[ 04 ]The chamber is not a call centre and not a marketplace. It is the same advocates who appear before the Punjab & Haryana High Court, sitting at the same desk, taking the same matters — with the door open on screen six evenings a week.
